1. Regular Inspection and Maintenance

Corrosion is one of the main reasons for radiator failure, and moisture in the air accelerates this process. Hence, it's important to regularly inspect pipe joints to ensure there are no leaks. Additionally, periodic addition of water and air purging from the top of the radiator helps maintain a corrosion-free system.
 
2. Set the Right Objectives

Radiators should not be partially filled with water as it accelerates corrosion. For idle generators, water should be either completely drained or filled entirely. Furthermore, using distilled or naturally soft water and adding the appropriate amount of rust inhibitor improves water quality and prolongs the radiator's lifespan.
 
3. Safety Precautions During Operation

The coolant in diesel generator radiators is often hot and under pressure. Therefore, no maintenance or disassembly should be carried out while the radiator is still hot, and caution should be exercised when the fan is operating or the fan guard is open to prevent accidents.
